As can be seen there is a clear boundary beween red and blue, they are two different communities, the blue represent advantaged residential area, not only since most of residents are british white people, but also they have higher income, lower unemployment rates, lower crime rates. the red represent disaadvantaged group, most of residents are black people and other ethnic minority. You can figure out the difference between these two communities easily in terms of different building typology.
The distance between two communities is just about a half kilometer,but it is hard to cross and the crossing is unpleasant.

ReplyDeleteFor starters, the central line runs along the right side of the map enabling these people to get directly into the city (liverpool street) within 35 minutes, and west end (ocford street) in around 45 minutes. whereas for those on the left have to use transport (buses or overground) that require several changes and much time to get into the city!
