THE TIDE CITY - Sunny

Fabian, I added on to my "richter-scale" diagram, and I found an old London bombsite map, which I'm painstakingly (!) tracing in illustrator. What do you think?

Memories in the City- Muna (ZSM)

So far this week, Group ZSM have been doing some research in various areas and in different topics. Some topics we found interesting were the ideas of memory and nostalgia and identity in the city. I came across a great website, which wishes to preserve and appreciate the memories in the city of New York.

We went to a few chosen areas in London, to try to get a feel for the place and it's identity. We wanted to understand different areas in London, so we went to some specific chosen areas in different zones. Also we have been reading about memory, and how we form memories to try to try and understand it better.

"Images must be lively, active striking, charged with emotional effects so that they may pass through the doors of the storehouse of memory." Giordano Bruno, 1591

London Research

Just came across a really nice bookmark in my collection I have forgotten about. VISUALCOMPLEXITY a great collection of ways to visualize information.
This example was created by using the tool processing. A quite a simple to use java based pice of software developed by students at MIT. This example here visualizes travel times on the london tube network.

You might find further examples that are inspirational for your presentations in one week's time (not in therms of programming but in terms of graphics).
