Inside Out: Collages
Here are some further collages I have made. Image 1 shows a flashmob organised online which has gathered at Speakers corner. Image 2 illustrates changes to Marylborough High Street, structures can be built on former road space, facades can ne extended. Online communities establish themselves in former pubs, retailers use open space to showcase items available in large depots on the outer ring of the city. Online communities communicate to the public about events through message boards.

Inside Out: Colages
Here are collages I have been working on to illustrate ]InsideOut[ as a proposal. Collage 1 shows Chiltern Street transformed from a retail parade to a car free residential area. Collage 2 shows a street off Marylbone which is transformed with the reinstatment of underground river and connection to existing canal. This creates a layered transport network which can service the needs of residents. I am currently working on additional collages to illustrate different aspects of the proposal and also a SWOT analysis.

progress
I carried out a "rebombing" of my site using the grid I created early on and a random number generating website. Based on the results, I made a new sketchup model and a few renderings after tracing it in illustrator. I had decided the site would be mixed use, with mostly residential and some commercial. I created a rendering that illustrates the commercial space as being staggered within residential towers and horizontally linked, effectively creating a linear office tower and eliminating office "dead zones."
Different Expressions
Fabian, I didn't know how to embed these videos, I couldn't find anywhere that said embed. But these videos and this website even, exactly shows what I mean by human expression. They're amazing!

Made in Tokyo - Guide Book
A link to the book we talked about last Friday. It is called Made in Tokyo by by Junzo Kuroda (Author), Momoyo Kaijima (Author).
It contains some more surprising function combination, beside the park on the sewage works.
There is also a website online where you can explore all the examples. Great graphics with simply drawing!

Tutoril week six - 2009-02-06
Schedule for the tutorials this Friday, with some small group tutorials...
10h00 - 10h40 Paul
10h40 - 13h00 Dai, Muna, Sunny
14h00 - 14h40 Sura
14h40 - 17h00 Pritpal, Zahra, Stevy and Dasha
17h00 - 17h40 Nuala
For the groups, I suggest that each of you is presenting her/his project in about 10 min and after that we have a discussion. Bear in mind that the others from your group haven’t seen what you where doing so far this term. You probably have to tell them the whole story. Still, you have to stick to the time limit, because the feedback from all of us will be the important bit for you.
You could consider uploading some images about your work to the blog tonight, to allow the others to see it in advance.
